About Me: My name is Mike Nassar, and I am in my fifth year as Director of the Community Literacy Initiative at LCWM. Prior to coming to the Literacy Center, I was privileged to spend over thirty years in public education as a teacher, principal, and leadership coach. I also currently work with elementary student teachers as a Field Coordinator at Grand Valley State University.

Hobbies: When I am not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors fly-fishing, camping, and walking with my wife. I also enjoy reading and spending time relaxing with our two cats.

Favorite part of the job: In my role as Director of CLI, I am lucky to have the opportunity to bring together many diverse literacy partners and help facilitate the development of ideas and strategies to support literacy development in our community. Working with so many talented and passionate individuals to promote literacy is the best part of my job.
