Bryan Salinas is a first-generation Marketing graduate from Ferris State University. He was born in McAllen, TX, but was raised most of his life in Holland, MI.
He comes from a migrant-working family and understands the struggle that the language barrier may be in the workforce, school or in the community. “My parents immigrated to the United States from Mexico for a better opportunity. Both my parents didn’t know English, so I remember learning the language by watching TV when I was young. There are thousands of opportunities and jobs out there that minority people are missing out on because of English literacy.”
Bryan grew a passion for community and helping others during his undergrad after being involved in many student organizations and programs at Ferris State including the Hispanic Student Organization, Promesa Scholars, Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Inc, WMHCC Building Bridges Through Education Fellowship and more.
During his free time, Bryan enjoys playing or watching soccer. He also serves as the Marketing Director for the newest semi-pro soccer team in West Michigan, Tulip City United Soccer Club.
