Meet Karsten, one of the many coaches being celebrated during Spellebration on Wednesday April 15th.

Originally from Germany, Karsten spent his career as a scientist and professor studying molecular biology and biochemistry. After retiring, he looked for a way to stay engaged and give back. For nearly four years, he has worked one-on-one with the same learner. Progress can be gradual, but his learner shows up every time, completes her homework, and clearly values the lessons. Seeing that dedication keeps Karsten committed—even when learning is challenging, he says he wouldn’t walk away.
