The Literacy Center of West Michigan holds four events annually: Spellebration, Wine & Words, Luncheon for Literacy and the Community Literacy Summit.

Join us for our Fifth Annual Luncheon for Literacy hosted by the Literacy Center of West Michigan. This year’s event will take place on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm at the Waddell Center, 1115 Taylor NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.

There is no cost to attend this event but we are hopeful that by gaining a greater understanding of our organization’s mission you will join us in our efforts to bring about a more just and vibrant West Michigan through the power of literacy. The Literacy Center of West Michigan’s 11th Annual Wine & Words event will be held at Mark and Sara Peters’ home on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017.

This event is a celebration of West Michigan’s efforts to bring about a more just and vibrant West Michigan through the power of literacy.

Guests will enjoy wine, hors d’oeuvres and an opportunity to play word games in one of the premiere homes in Grand Rapids.

Reading by Third Grade: Our Shared Opportunity, Our Shared Responsibility

The Literacy Center of West Michigan invites you to attend the Sixth Annual Community Literacy Summit on Thursday, January 25, 2018. The Summit seeks to convene community leaders, institutional/policy makers, parents, and educators to discuss and understand the issues and conditions associated with children reading proficiently by the end of third grade. The Summit will create a dynamic space for sharing our understandings and exploring opportunities for optimizing reading success for children in West Michigan.
