Community Literacy Summit 2020

Ready to Read, Ready to Succeed: Developing Literacy Birth to Five

The 2020 Community Literacy Summit will focus on the development of language and literacy skills in young children birth to age five, specifically those that lead to kindergarten readiness and grade level reading success. The Summit is designed to bring about discussion and action around literacy readiness skills for young children in West Michigan.

The Summit draws approximately 250 regional attendees. The target audience includes policy makers, educators, administrators, parents, and community leaders, as well as representatives from local companies, social service organizations, nonprofits and faith-based institutions.

The Summit will include a keynote speaker, two morning breakout sessions, facilitated networking, and a closing panel discussion during lunch.

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Keisha Siriboe as this year's keynote speaker. Dr. Siriboe is the inaugural Director of the ROX Institute in Columbus, OH. Previously, she served as the Director of Content and Programming for Reading is Fundamental (RIF).

SCECHs will be available at the Summit at no charge. Details will be available at registration on the day of the event.
