Ready to Read, Ready to Succeed: Developing Literacy Birth to Five
The 2020 Community Literacy Summit will focus on the development of language and literacy skills in young children birth to age five, specifically those that lead to kindergarten readiness and grade level reading success. The Summit is designed to bring about discussion and action around literacy readiness skills for young children in West Michigan.
The Summit draws approximately 250 regional attendees. The target audience includes policy makers, educators, administrators, parents, and community leaders, as well as representatives from local companies, social service organizations, nonprofits and faith-based institutions.
The Summit will include a keynote speaker, two morning breakout sessions, facilitated networking, and a closing panel discussion during lunch.
SCECHs will be available at the Summit at no charge. Details will be available at registration on the day of the event.
Request for Presentations
The Literacy Center invites submissions of breakout presentations relevant to the acquisition of literacy skills in young children. Please review the guidelines before beginning a proposal. The deadline to submit presentation proposals is Monday, November 18, 2019 at 11:59 pm.
